Jai Sai Master!

Dear Dwaraka garu,
Many Thanks for reminding "The more we understand the problem, clearer the solution becomes!!" Iam trying now to understand.

The Problem as i understood till now

In General:

It is very clear from the lives of all the realised ones, if we have atleast a glance, that one can have a better way of living compared to how we are living now - a life with more clarity, more joy, better understanding, more than all a blissful state of mind. But the are reasons that are stopping us from attaining are trivial, very stupid and silly. There is always a better way of looking into the things.Im still trying to see the problem clearly...

In Particular:

Whenever i see people with false humility,i understand all of us have one or the other blockage in their path,if it is removed one can flow with life current without any resistance and reach the goal.It is like a river has already born, where can it reach other than ocean? only some obstacles are on its way.Just by removing them--the river will merge with ocean. For one,it is false humility, for other it is pride, for other it may be the very desire of attaining etc...Just the removal of this dust makes the mirror clear. No one is higher or lower, just the quantity of the dust to be removed decides...

Friends, good people, known people if they are struggling with these and it is really frustrating when we are trying to help--and that help is becoming a hindrance for their understanding..what to do?how to help?only answer i got is pray to baba--"correct me if iam wrong, please show us the right way.. only you are capable.."   what else can i do?

sorry if i had written something meaningless.I just poured my flow of thoughts.I respect this forum and i dont want to throw garbage from my mind into a holy place---Still trying to see the problem clearly....

Dwaraka Uncle,

Quote
Hence, the point of Sadhana is to get better and better so that one can 'see' and experience the truth.

Quote
Secondly, they said that there are many ways to see the truth, and owing to one's own temperment, there are different starting points for such a journey. Hence there are different forms of Sadhana.

You said that Sadhana is the starting point of attaining our Goal, right?

So, is what we are all doing right now a waste of time?  Since what we are doing, (going to school, taking exams, getting jobs, etc.) doesn't get us any closer to "Discovering the truth, the true nature of one-self, and that of the whole of creation and the creator is the goal".

Quote
But for all those, they said that certain qualities are necessary. They called them "Daivi Sampada".

We have to get the certain qualities, (Daivi Sampada), then do Sadhana, then after many years of doing so, we will reach the Goal?  But Uncle, what is everyone doing right now?  Like doing pooja, going to temples, participating in temple activities, doing prayer, etc.

Many of us are doing parayana. Is that Sadhana?  But according to what you said, Sadhana will be technically started only after obtaining Daivi Sampada characteristics. If that is not Sadhana, what is it?

Uncle, you said that there are different types of Sadhana and that it differs by each's temperament.  They say that every person is different, so are there that many types of Sadhana?

I have read about Daivi Sampada in Gurucharitra and am listing the characteristics below.

Here are some Do's and Dont's for the "Daivi Sampada" characteristics.

1) Do Be Peaceful (Shanti),(Krodhamu Lekunda)
2) Be Righteousness (Dharmamu),(Dharmanista)
3) Be Compassionate towards others (Canikaramu)
4) Be Shy (Siggu/Ladja)
5) Be Charitable (Dhaanamu)
6) Have a Pure Heart (Hrudyam Suddhi)
7) Do (Yogabhyasamu)
Cool Do (Thatvajnanamu)
9) Do Control Your Senses (Indriya Nigrahamu)
10) Do (Yajnmu)
11) Do Penance (Thappassu)
12) Do Read Good Literary Works (Svadyayamu)
13) Be Non-Violent (Ahimsa)
14) Be Truthful (Satyamu)
15) Do Sacrifice (Thyagamu)
16) Be Polite (Mrudhu Svabhvamu)
17) Have Unwavering Common Sense (Chekkuchadharani Yuktha Yukthabuddhi)
18) Be Patient (Sahanamu), (Orimi)
19) Don't Be Inconsistent (Champalyamu Lekundadamu)
20) Don't Broadcast Others' Wrong Deeds (Etharula Dhoshalu Prakatencha Kudadhu)
21) Don't Be Deceptive (Vanchana Lekundadamu)
22) Don't Be Egoistic (Nigarvamu)

These are very good qualities:).  But if someone did have these qualities, why would they need to do Sadhana?

Don't they already have the characteristics of a Mahatma?

What would be the difference between a Mahatma and a "normal" person that has "mastered" the Daivi Sampada qualities?

Uttam garu,
Quote
Babu garu stresses these in many threads. I am sure you find many related topics here.
I am going through the other threads in the forum.Really there is a lot more to learn here.
Quote
It becomes interesting to find our own faults and working with them. During the initial stages ego does play part (resisting part   Smiley ) but as the time moves, we cross the layers of ego much easily with the support of constant Paarayana and participation in Satsangs.
Well said. I am reminded of the sloka

Satsangatve nissangatvam,
Nissangatve nirmohatvam,
Nirmohatve nischalatatvam,
Nischalatatve Jeevanmuktam..---Sri Sankara Bhagavadpada

Dwaraka garu,

What you have mentioned is true. I met very few people like them. The common points i have observed in them are 1.They have read few spiritual books. 2. If we question them, they will become upset. After my experience with first two persons of this category, i have decided not to argue with them.Reasons are 1.They will become upset and may not be close with me as previously. 2. There is feeling of guilt in me after questioning them--did i hurt a good person or what?? Don't know what is the solution-so only way is silence.

Raghuram garu,

Firstly you have to answer me some pending questions which i have asked you long back in previous posts, only then i will answer. Cheesy
Secondly answering this question here is little difficult because there is a possibility one may misunderstand the tone in which i am speaking. So to answer that one prerequisite--you have to feel that you are listening to your very close friend. If this condition is ok for you i will proceed.. I used to find pleasure by agreeing easily whenever babu garu said something. In doing so, I missed something from what he said. I did not want to go into depths of it but was more than happy to agree to it first. This is not pari prasna.

Yes Raghuram garu, you are right. That is not pariprasna. In brief, Pariprasna cheyadaaniki....we need some qualities, which are totally lacking in me.

Raghuram garu,

jai saimaster!

I did not mean sir as in addressing a teacher, uttam garu Smiley. I know it is used in that sense a lot in andhrapradesh. I respect everyone. I address everyone as sir. Infact, I realized that this is the easiet way to treat everyone equally. Lately, I realized that when I go out, I don't see everyone on the road but only a few of those who are attractive or different. When I go to restaurant, I hardly see the face of the server. But I see the faces of attractive people sitting around. If I go to a function, I see only attractive people with new clothes but not workers there. That was so mean of me. From then on, I decided to 'see' everyone and 'talk' to everyone who ever comes into my vicinity in the same way, part of which is addressing everyone as sir.

Jai Sai Master!

Good points arun,

I agree with what you said.. Just wanted to add about false humility. In the name of spirituality, goodness, etc., some people go on saying "its all Baba's will", and "I am nothing". But when you question them, (or ourselves), thats when it becomes clear, whether the feeling of "I am nothing" is right or wrong. Or, people evade questioning itself in this name. Such false humility, IMHO is a big problem in the so called "devotees".  As vivekananda points out, one has to learn to take responsibility for oneself, and as Master says, then only one can leave the responsibility to the Guru.
