Jai Sai Master!

I personally have not read this book, and most probably, I wont.

Three reasons :

1. I already have Gurucharitra.
2. I cannot be sure of the authenticity of the new book.
3. I dont want to get conflicting opinions and ideas regarding Sri Sripaada Srivallabha Swami by reading any other book (unless specifically mentioned by some Mahatma)

So, I have no idea about this book. Even so, I personally dont recommend others to read it. It is very common (around me and through out history) that people end up having wrong ideas about Mahatmas because of non-authentic books. Besides, as it is said "Sadgrantha pathana kuda sadguruvu anugraham tone saphalamavutundi".

As of now, im reading pariprasna and 'nenu evadanu' by Ramana Maharshi, which are giving me enough stuff to think about and and understand.

Jai Sai Master!!!

The one who is really interested to know anything, will question himself and uses the books for reference. He uses the books but books do not use him. I feel the purpose of books is to get 'the one who is reading it' rid of them soon and no more depend on book. Else truth always remains in the book and never comes out. If one is courageous enough, he will go anywhere and do whatever is needed. He might read any book, but psychologically he uses them for reference and does not get used by books. If we have the right attitude anything can be used as reference, else we will get used by the books. And I hope we are using the books.

Great point. I totally agree. However, I think most of us are in a 'mutual-usage' stage, where we get influenced by what is written and we also influence what points we read (we read everything, but remember only those things that we like, for eg.).

However, the point of why one should read a book, ANY BOOK, must be understood by that person. 'Curiosity kills the cat' says the proverb. So better be safe, and clear, than sorry. Smiley

Jai Sai Master, Babu garu..
Jai Sai Master, Sai Bandhus..

I have "HEARD" the book!! When I was in Canada, a couple invited me when they came to know that I pray to Sri Sai Baba. They said, they are doing Guru Charitra samoohika parayana (ekaaham). I was very happy and went there.

When I reached the place what I found out was, they were doing the parayana of this book. I am not in a position to give my feedback exclusively but all I can say is, it describes the statistics, history, and miracles performed by Sri Padavallabha Swamy. I had to sit through the parayana and I was there till the entire book was read out.

No other book mentions the efficacy of Sadguru Tatwam as effectively as Sri Guru Charitra, specifically written by Master garu (I know, some of you might be thinking "there he goes again, talking about Master...I can't help it  Grin"!!!). Just as Sai bandhu Asterias garu mentioned, my intention is not at all to belittle that book. I am sharing what I know and what I went through.

Just imagine, almost every chapter has an introduction which gives the significance of Sri Guru. How wonderful it is to know the signifiance of Twashta who secures everything that His Guru asks for. But how well do we know the deeper aspect of it?? It is only mentioned in Sri Guru Charitra of the deeper signifiance. Otherwise we will think "wow! He is a great disciple, he got everything that his guru asked for". But how did he get it?? what is the significance?? And it even mentions further down in the following chapters, that Sri Guru asks all of us to obtain such a status as "padukas" (you know what?? I feel so stupid to put it in English, I hate it....  Smiley )

All these explanations are not given in other books which covers history of Sadgurus. I believe that if we give enough concentration and dedication on the introduction of each of those chapters, we will understand those chapters and in turn the essence of Mahatmas, in a lot lot better way.

Best Regards,
Jai Sai Master!

I agree with you Ananth garu. There is no parallel to Sri Guru Charitra by Master garu. Some sentences produces nectar in heart to me whenever I read them. Even so is Sri Sai Leelaamrutham. Nobody need to certify them. Our intuition itself tells it.

I don't see any harm if some one does not read SriPaadaSreeVallabha Charitaamrutam in light of them. I might be wrong. But one should not think negatively about it. I am sure about this since it is a genuine one. It is just that our little mind does not know all facts that can reconcile the differences.
